On 25 February 2026, the Research Instrument Center of Khon Kaen University (RIC KKU) had the honour of welcoming an executive delegation from the Institute of Science Service Network Development, led by Mr. Det Buaklee, Director of the Institute, accompanied by Dr. Paweena Kruenil, Director of the Joint Scientific Service Capability Promotion Center under the Department of Science Service.
The visit was convened as an academic and technical consultation aimed at strengthening the analytical capacity and quality management systems of the Food and Agricultural Product Chemical Analysis Laboratory under the RIC KKU. The objective is to enhance the laboratory’s readiness for testing and accreditation in accordance with international standards, particularly ISO/IEC 17025.

The proposed scope of accreditation encompasses the quantitative determination of 15 amino acids in food matrices using an Amino Acid Analyzer. This initiative aims to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results, while strengthening quality development and control in compliance with the standards of the Department of Science Service and ISO 17025. The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange experiences, address challenges and obstacles, and explore future development directions.
On this occasion, the working team of the Research Instrument Center presented a comprehensive report on its operational performance and provided relevant information to the executive delegation. Both parties engaged in constructive dialogue on challenges, technical constraints, and capacity-building pathways necessary to align laboratory operations with Thailand’s National Quality Infrastructure (NQI) framework.
This discussion marks a significant step in strengthening collaboration among scientific service agencies and advancing the University’s laboratory development toward nationally and internationally recognized standards. Such efforts contribute to supporting sustainable economic and social development of the country.
