On August 13, 2026, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., Khon Kaen University (KKU) welcomed Mr. Boonsong Noisophon, Second Vice-President of the Senate of Thailand, and members of the Committee on Education of the Senate at the Board Room, 3rd Floor, Administration Building, Northeastern Science Park. The visit provided an opportunity to explore and exchange knowledge on research and innovation.  The delegation included Pol. Lt. Gen. Yutthana Thaiphakdi,  Mr. Chip Chitniyom, and Mr. Phisit Aphiwatthanaphong, Members of the Senate; Pol. Maj. Gen. Wutthiphong Phetkamnoet, a member of the Senate Academic Committee; and Ms. Kaewkate Thawornphun, Deputy Secretary-General of the Senate.

, Vice President for Enterprise and Societal Sustainability, welcomed the delegation. They presented KKU’s approaches to research management, the promotion and utilization of research outcomes, and several of the university’s notable achievements, including sustainable insect-protein production for animal feed and the development of next-generation battery and energy technologies.

The delegation then visited the Smart City Operation Center (SCOPC) to learn about the application of technology and innovation in urban management.

     จากนั้น คณะได้เยี่ยมชม ศูนย์ปฏิบัติการเมืองอัจฉริยะ (Smart City Operation Center: SCOPC) เพื่อเรียนรู้การประยุกต์ใช้เทคโนโลยีและนวัตกรรมในการบริหารจัดการเมือง

The visit served as a platform for exchanging experiences and knowledge in research and innovation, while also strengthening collaboration between the Senate of and Khon Kaen University. The cooperation aims to advance research and innovation toward practical applications that create meaningful benefits for society and the country.
