Associate Professor Michael Ivan Hertzberg is a scholar of religion focusing on political Buddhism, religious freedom, and rhetoric in Sri Lanka and Myanmar. He is also a joint researcher on the "Eco Temple" project, which models environmental management in Buddhist temples in Northeast Thailand.
