Professor Pewpan Maleewong, MD, Vice President for Research and Innovation, and Associate Professor Niyom Wongpongkham, PhD, Vice President for Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy of Khon Kaen University, participated in the royal reception for Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, who graciously presided over the opening ceremony of the “Thailand Research Expo 2025” at Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld, Bangkok, on June 20, 2025, at 2:30 p.m.

Later, at 4:30 p.m., the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), presented plaques of appreciation to institutions that showcased their research at the event. The plaques were presented by Dr. Wiparat Dee-ong, Executive Director of the NRCT. Professor Pewpan Maleewong, MD, received the plaque on behalf of Khon Kaen University as part of the Research University Network Thailand (RUN).
