About the Program
The Lancang–Mekong Cooperation Special Fund (LMCSF) is a multilateral funding program established in 2016 under the Lancang–Mekong Cooperation (LMC) framework to support small- and medium-scale cooperation projects among the six riparian countries of the Lancang–Mekong River:
China (where the river is called the Lancang)/Myanmar/Lao PDR/Thailand/Cambodia/Vietnam
Purpose
Promote sustainable socio-economic development in the Mekong sub-region.
Fund cooperation projects in areas such as agriculture, water resources management, public health, education, science and technology, environmental protection, tourism, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.
Strengthen mutual trust, regional connectivity, and shared prosperity.
Funding Available
Approx USD 0.6 million/project/year
