On January 14, 2026, from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m., at the meeting room of the Research for Social Development Institute (RSDI) Building, Khon Kaen University, Associate Professor Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, MD, President of Khon Kaen University, together with Professor Pewpan Maleewong, MD, Vice President for Research and Innovation, and the delegation from the Research Administration Division, engaged in a policy-level visit and institutional dialogue with the Food, Energy, and Water Security Research Institute (FEWs) of the Mekong Subregion. The visit served as a platform for high-level discussions and exchanges on institutional operations and the advancement of the Institute’s research and development agenda.

The visit aimed to communicate the University’s strategic policy directions in research and innovation, to inform the Institute about relevant policy frameworks, and to align the driving mechanisms of research centers and research institutes with the University’s strategic plan.  In addition, it aimed to accelerate the translation enhancement of research outcomes into commercial applications and measurable societal impact.

โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อสื่อสารทิศทางการดำเนินงานด้านวิจัยและนวัตกรรมของมหาวิทยาลัย ให้สถาบันวิจัยรับทราบกรอบนโยบายและแนวทางการขับเคลื่อนศูนย์วิจัยและสถาบันวิจัยให้สอดคล้องกับยุทธศาสตร์ของมหาวิทยาลัย รวมถึงการต่อยอดผลงานวิจัยสู่การใช้ประโยชน์เชิงพาณิชย์และสังคม

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Professor Monchai Duangjinda, PhD, Director of the FEWs; Assistant Professor Phayom Saraphirom, PhD; and the Institute’s researchers.  During the visit, the FEWs presented a comprehensive overview of the Institute’s operations and flagship research achievements, while engaging in constructive discussions and exchanging recommendations aimed at strengthening the University’s research capacity in the future.
