Specialization: Professor Darren Gray is an infectious disease epidemiologist specializing in the transmission and control of neglected tropical diseases, including schistosomiasis, echinococcosis, and soil-transmitted helminths. His research focuses on developing sustainable public health interventions to combat these diseases, aiming for their eventual elimination. He currently serves as Program Director of the Population Health Research Program and Head of the Global Health and Tropical Medicine Group at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute.

Professor Darren Gray – an infectious disease epidemiologist – is Deputy Director of the Research School of Population Health; and Head of its Department of Global Health. His current research investigates the transmission and control of the Neglected Tropical Diseases (schistosomiasis, echinococcosis and the soil-transmitted helminths), some of the most prevalent and important parasitic infections that cause much suffering and economic loss worldwide. He aims to develop new public health interventions against these pathogens that will lead to their sustainable control and eventual elimination.
