About the Program
The Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) was a federal agency responsible for administering Canada’s official development assistance (ODA) to developing countries. Established in 1968, CIDA was merged into the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in 2013, forming what is now known as Global Affairs Canada (GAC). As a result, CIDA no longer operates as a separate entity, and its functions have been integrated into GAC’s broader international development efforts
