The Commission of the European Communities (EEC) historically managed and coordinated development cooperation, trade relations, and political dialogue with Southeast Asian countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Burma, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam under the framework of EU foreign policy and development aid. About the Program

The Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) is a broker and investor of international agricultural research partnerships that address major challenges facing the people and environment of the Indo-Pacific region.
The partnerships that ACIAR establishes are varied and designed on a case-by-case basis. Many partnerships are bilateral arrangements between an Australian-based commissioned organisation and one or several in-country organisations.
Project development
Initial project ideas should be addressed to the appropriate Research Program Manager in one of the following areas: Agribusiness/Climate Change/Crops/Fisheries/Forestry/Horticulture/Livestock Systems
Social Systems/Soil & Land Management
Water
Projects are developed in the following stages:
Concept Notes are are written and submitted by Research Program Managers, not potential project leaders. If the idea fits ACIAR and partner country criteria, and funds are likely to be available, the Research Program Manager may invite the proponent to develop the idea as a formal proposal.

About the Program

The Discovery Grants (individual) program supports ongoing programs of research with long-term goals rather than a single short-term project or collection of projects. These grants recognize the creativity and innovation that are at the heart of all research advances. DGs are typically five years in duration and are considered “grants in aid” of research, as they provide long-term operating funds and can facilitate access to funding from other programs but are not meant to support the full costs of a research program.

DG recipients are not restricted to the specific activities described in their applications and may pursue new research interests, provided they are within NSERC’s mandate and adhere to the principles and directives governing the appropriate use of funds as outlined in the Tri-agency Guide on Financial Administration. This provides researchers with the flexibility to pursue promising research avenues as they emerge and the opportunity to address higher-risk (higher reward) topics. Researchers can use their grants to participate in collaborative efforts.

The Lancang–Mekong Cooperation Special Fund (LMCSF) is a multilateral funding program established in 2016 under the Lancang–Mekong Cooperation (LMC) framework to support small- and medium-scale cooperation projects among the six riparian countries of the Lancang–Mekong River:
China (where the river is called the Lancang)/Myanmar/Lao PDR/Thailand/Cambodia/Vietnam
Purpose
Promote sustainable socio-economic development in the Mekong sub-region.
