U2T of the Faculty of Agriculture, KKU holds a coaching workshop for entrepreneurs in developing community products

August 13, 2021 – Faculty of Agriculture, Khon Kaen University organized an online workshop via Google Meet on “Development of Business Plans for Community Products” under the University to Tambon or U2T Project for Ban Thaen Sub-district, Chonnabot District, Khon Kaen and Khok Snga Sub-district, Phon District, Khon Kaen. Participants included implementers of the Project and entrepreneurs in the area. This Project – Integrated Sub-district Socio-Economic Upgrading – is led by Asst. Prof. Arunee Promkhambut, Ph.D., of the Faculty of Agriculture. The workshop was principally run by Asst. Prof. Sukanda Nakhapaksin, Ph.D., with assistance from Khun Pirote Jullarat, CEO of Microbrain Co.Ltd., and Khun Jittiporn Jitphak, Producer of Agency Advertisement. The 35 participants were given suggestions on business plans that were based on the results of community information analysis and group meetings that provided information on outstanding products and people who wanted to develop their existing products or initiate new products. The entrepreneurs and project implementers had a chance to present their Business Model Canvas (BMC) and received suggestions from the experts who ran the workshop. The objectives of this workshop were to give knowledge in developing marketing communication, finding selling channels, and to promote identity creation for community products.

EGAT and KKU join in developing Engywall for commercial benefits

August 20, 2021 at 16:00 p.m. – Khon Kaen University held an MOU signing ceremony with the Electricity Generation Authority of Thailand (EGAT) via Zoom Meeting. The collaboration is under the “Engywall Research and Development Project for Commercial Benefits”. Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University represented and signed for KKU, while Dr. Jiraporn Sirikham, the Strategic Deputy Director of the Electricity Generation Authority of Thailand represented and signed for EGAT. Both parties’ witnesses at the MOU signing were Prof. Thidarat Boonmars, Ph.D., Vice President for Innovation and Enterprise; Khun Venus Longsomboon, Assistant Director for Research, Innovation, and Business Development of EGAT and over 30 other administrators.

Department of Medical Services signs MOU with KKU for development of digital medical certificate issuance

August 19, 2021 at 14:00 p.m. – Khon Kaen University signed an MOU with the Department of Medical Services, for the development of digital medical certificate issuance. Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University represented Khon Kaen University, while Dr. Somsak Akksilp, M.D., Director General of the Department of Medical Services represented the Department of Medical Services in the online MOU signing via ZOOM. Witnesses at this MOU signing ceremony comprised Asst. Prof. Denpong Soodphakdee, Ph.D., Vice President for Digital of KKU; Dr. Patarawin Attasara, M.D., Director of the Digital Medical Institute; Mr. Chaichana Weerasuchat, Director of the Ethical Protection Law and Discipline Group of the Department of Medical Services; and Dr. Thanapop Na Nakhonpanom, M.D., from the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University.

Prof. Athibodee Meesing, M.D., a lecturer of the Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine; Ajarn Natsamol Tanakulrungsarit, Assistant to the President for Special Affairs joined at the press meeting, which took place at Sarasin Room, Sirikunakorn Building, Khon Kaen University.

Win-Win for all! Home Isolation user’s disclose the distant care from doctors, patients and community can be confident of the system

The situation of Covid-19 is severe these days, with rapidly increasing number of infected people. Khon Kaen University thus came up with the Home Isolation Management System to assist Srinagarind Hospital of the Faculty of Medicine, KKU, so that more patients can be accepted into the hospital’s system and more normal patients can receive their treatment as usual. After the start, a lot of Covid-19 patient cases could be discharged, demonstrating that the system is satisfactory.

During Covid-19 pandemic, which results in a staggering number of patients, hospitals’ patient treatment and care system has been overcrowded and can no longer bed a lot of patients. The country found it vital to design a new system to accommodate the patients by asking those with minor symptoms or the patients labeled ‘green’ to rest at home, or what is called ‘Home Isolation’. However, for the patient to rest at home safely while being able to efficiently contact the doctors at hospital, it is necessary for hospitals to have certain devices for the purpose. Khon Kaen University’s hospital therefore comes up with the ‘Home Isolation Management System’ that meets the Telemedicine standard of Thailand, with hope to successfully undergo the crisis.

KKU joins two giant private companies to develop world products from hemps, assist farmers and stimulate Thai economy

Tuesday August 3, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. – Khon Kaen University, NR Instant Produce Public Company (NRF) and Golden Triangle Health Co. Ltd. (GTH) signed an MOU for joint research, planting and extracting hemps. Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of KKU signed for Khon Kaen University, Khun Dan Pathomwanit, Chairman of NRF officers and Khun Julaphas Khruasophon, Founder of GTH signed for NRF and GTH, respectively. Executives of the two companies and mass media, totaling over 70 people, attended the ceremony that took place at Sarasin Room, Sirikunakorn Building, Khon Kaen University.

The national socio-economic restoration emphasizes the work at the community level by building jobs and occupations for self-reliance according to the principle of sufficiency economy. 60,000 new graduates and the public are employed to work in communities or sub-districts in one year. This project is called University to Tambon or U2T, carried out under 4 objectives: upgrading sub-district society by a university acting as a system Integrator, managing the community Big Data, employing the public, new graduates and students, and restoring community economy by solving the community problems. Khon Kaen University has joined the project under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation by being the Upper Isan node, regulating and carrying out the work in 395 sub-districts of 15 provinces in a group of 9 universities. 16 faculties and departments of Khon Kaen University have joined to take responsibilities over 135 sub-districts. The length of the project is one year until December 2021.
