This program strives to develop English listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in line with the U2T Project for Sustainable Development, including: 1) Developing dignified livelihoods and creating new jobs (upgrading products by OTOP/other livelihoods); 2) Building and developing a Creative Economy (upgrading tourism); 3) Using knowledge to serve the community (Health Care/technology/etc.); and 4) Promoting environmentalism/the Circular Economy (increasing recurring income in the community).

Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University had a meeting with Prof. Thidarat Boonmars, D.V.M., Ph.D., Vice President for Innovation and Enterprise; Asst. Prof. Denpong Soodphakdee, Ph.D., Vice President for Digital; Mr. Apichai Wongsriworaphon, Ph.D., Director of the Science Park Khon Kaen; Assoc. Prof. Wanida Kanarkard, Ph.D., a lecturer from the Department of Engineering Computer, Faculty of Engineering and Assoc. Prof. Rawee Hanpachoen, Ph.D., a lecturer from the Faculty of Architecture. The meeting was on the management of the Smart city Operation Center (SCOPC) under the Big Rock Project of Khon Kaen University, which took place at the President Meeting Room, 6th Floor, Sirikunakorn Building, Khon Kaen University.

May 25, 2021 – Faculty of Education of Khon Kaen University held a meeting under the 2022 Strategic Planning Project of the Faculty. Participants included the administrators of the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University Demonstration School, Chairmen of Curricular Administrative Committees, lecturers, and heads of different units. The meeting was organized online, with Assoc. Prof. Sumalee Chaicharoen, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty conveying the opening address. Among key attendants was Assoc. Prof. Isara Kanjak, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Strategies and Organization Development.

Tuesday June 1, 2021 – the Education and Academic Service Section of Khon Kaen University launched the AI Experiential Learning Programs. Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University; Mr. Surapon Petchvra, an Honorary Member of Khon Kaen University Council; Assoc. Prof. Maitree Inprasitha, Ph.D., Vice President for Education and Academic Service; and KKU administrators honored the opening ceremony at Smart Classroom, 4th Floor, Institute for Research and Development of Teaching Profession for ASEAN, Khon Kaen University. Over 3,000 people participated in the event online.

Two projects of the Secondary-Level, Demonstration School (Mo Dindaeng) were selected by the Science Society of Thailand under the Royal Patronage and the National Science Museum (NSM) as Thailand representatives to enter the Virtual Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair 2021 (Regeneron ISEF 2021), hosted by the Society for Science, United States on May 3-6, 2021 and May 16-21, 2021, among 64 countries worldwide. There were 1,833 finalist students and 1,472 projects in 21 fields.

May 25, 2021 – Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University; Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati Charoen, Ph.D., Vice President for International Affairs; Asst. Prof. Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Affairs; Assoc. Prof. Ratchaphon Suntivarakorn, Ph.D., Dean of Faculty of Engineering; and lecturers from the Faculty of Engineering held an online meeting with Consul General of the People’s Republic of China to Khon Kaen Province through VDO Conference. The meeting discussed the development of the undergraduate High Speed Train Program, which is under the collaboration between Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) and Khon Kaen University.

Faculty of Education, KKU and the Office of the Secretary of the Education Council launches the learning experiment project for the 21st Century, with 25 schools in 5 provinces all over the country joining

The Learning Experiment Project for the 21st Century is under the collaboration of the Office of the Secretary of the Education Council and Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, Office of Basic Education Commission and Department of Local Government Promotion. The objective is to develop innovative competency of learners. The project’s first meeting was held on May 13, 2021 through the online system, with Dr. Amnat Wichayanuwat, General Secretary of the Education Council presiding over the meeting. In his opening speech, Dr. Amnat assigned the policy to be implemented. Among attendants was Dr. Usanee Thanosawan, Vice General Secretary of the Education Council. Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University welcomed the delegation and the school teachers and administrators who are joining the project. Mr. Samnao Nuathong, Director of the Office of Education Standards and Learning Development conveyed the reporting speech. Assoc. Prof. Sumalee Chaicharoen, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Education, as the research project and the team leader presented the plans for the Learning Experiment Project for the 21st Century. There are 5 experimental sites covering 25 schools in Khon Kaen, Sakonnakhon, Lampang, Chonburi and Nakhon Srithammarat.

KKU President chairs the meeting of AI in Healthcare Project, Khon Kaen University

May 18, 2021 at Conference Room, 6th Floor, Office of the President – Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University presided over the meeting of the AI in Healthcare Committee, attended by the appointed members and relevant personnel. The meeting was also online through Zoom Video Conferencing, which was attended by the members from different faculties.
The meeting began at 15:00 hours. Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, as the chairman of AI in Healthcare Committee, told the members that for driving the project forward, the committee has regularly met including the AI in Healthcare Clubhouse meeting at Bayasita Hotel. The agenda today would be conclusion of the past activities and planning for the next steps.
