The continuing collaboration between Mitsubishi Company (Thailand) Ltd. and Khon Kaen University has been discussed. The CSR collaborations started in 2018 with Faculty of Agriculture under the projects of Rice and Native chicken in the NE. This year the renewal energy and solar applications with Faculty of Engineering.

Thailand A.I. University Consortium is expediting AI technologies for the country growth

An MOU signing ceremony was held by Thailand A.I. University Consortium comprising the 5 Thailand AI universities, namely, Khon Kaen University, Chulalongkorn University, Mahidol University, Prince of Songkhla University, and King Monkut University of Technology Lad Krabung, with CMKL Thailand. The universities are joining force to develop artificial intelligence technologies, which are now becoming more and more important to our daily lives. The collaboration will be in terms of joint research and development of Deep-Tech innovations with the use of artificial intelligence. The Consortium has also entered as a network member of NVIDIA A.I. Technology Centre, where many world leading universities already join. NVIDIA is the producer of GPU machine, a key mechanism of high-speed processing unit for artificial intelligence of the world.

KKU promotes clean energy from alga mass or “hythane”, a new environmental friendly energy source

Khon Kaen University discloses the research work on production of a new and clean biofuel, “hythane” from algae, which offers high combustion efficiency and is also environmental friendly. Khon Kaen University met the press to release news on the research result, “Producing hythane gas from macro algae”. Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University welcomed the news reporters. Also joined in the press release were KKU researchers led by Prof. Dr. Alisara Ruangsaeng, a national outstanding researcher in agriculture and biology, a TRF Senior Research Scholar, and a Sarasin Honorary Researcher from Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Technology. The event took place at Sirikunakorn Room 4, 2nd Floor, Sirikunakorn Building, Office of the President, Khon Kaen University.

KKU discusses with Khon Kaen Province on the plan to strengthen cricket farmers and help them build sustainable incomes

The discussion for the approaches for promoting and developing livestock occupation (crickets) in Khon Kaen Province is under the project to promote and develop livestock occupation in Khon Kaen. The objectives were to find the ways to strengthen cricket farmers and increase their skill and knowledge in farming commercial quality crickets as well as to upgrade the cricket farming as a principle and sustainable occupation for the farmers.

KKU holds an AI for Healthcare Workshop in the Post COVID-19 era, Phase 2, to strengthen medical works by means of artificial intelligence and to step forwards towards medical excellence

A workshop was held on AI for Healthcare in the Post COVID-19 era, Phase 2. The opening session began with Asst. Prof. Dr. Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Affairs giving a reporting speech and Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati Charoen, Ph.D., Vice President for International Affairs made an opening address. Over 40 people attended including the guest speakers, University administrators and staff, and over 60 KKU students in medical science fields from hospitals and medical faculties in different universities in Thailand. Over 500 interested people also joined online on Zoom Webinar.

KKU takes steps in continuously organizing education quality improvement activities for sustainable development under SDGs mission

The Institute for Research and Development in Teaching Profession for ASEAN organized a workshop for teachers and educators, Groups 1 and 2 under the Teacher and School Development Project for continuously upgrading education quality. The workshop received monetary support from the Education Equity Fund.

On Tuesday 24, 2020 at 9:00 a.m., the opening ceremony was scheduled with Assoc. Prof. Maitree Inprasitha, Ph.D., Vice President for Education and Academic Service presiding over the event and welcomed the participants while Assoc. Prof. Jumpon Rachawijit, the Institute’s Advisor for Training and Academic Service gave a report speech on the past implementation of research and innovation development.

QSHC – Getting prepared for Covid-19

a preparation program for Covid-19 was carried out to train doctors, nurses and relevant officers. The event featured simulation of Covid-19 situation, with patient refer to ER where officers contact the doctor and related professional team before the patient is sent to AIIR. After this, there will be coordination with the Lab for sending specimen and for informing the patient’s result before moving the patient through the Negative Chamber system. All steps have been smoothly rehearsed.

Thai Association of Dental Implantology joins KKU Dentistry to hold a conference that will promote Thailand as an Asian Implant Center

November 23, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. at Pulman Raja Orchid Hotel, Khon Kaen – Faculty of Dentistry of Khon Kaen University and the Thai Association of Dental Implantology host a 2020 conference on “Upskill for Implant Success”. Assoc. Prof. Somchai Setsirisombat, D.D.S., President of the Thai Association of Dental Implantology gave a reporting speech, while Asst. Prof. Teekayu Palangkoon Jorns, D.D.S., Associate Dean for Research, Graduate Study and Foreign Relation of Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University, presided over the opening ceremony. Over 360 dentists all over Thailand joined.

The conference, “Upskill for Implant Success” was aimed at developing and promoting dental implant knowledge among the association members and dentists as well as to respond to the country’s policy for Thailand to be the center for dental implant in ASEAN.
