ผลงานวิจัย มข. ยกระดับเกษตรกรไทย ด้วยองค์ความรู้วิทยาศาสตร์และภูมิปัญญาท้องถิ่น สู่โมเดล “จิ้งหรีดเงินล้าน”

Research by Khon Kaen University has been featured on the television program “Khon Hua Ka Thi” (รายการ คนหัวกะทิ) in the episode “Unveiling the Path to Success of Million-Baht Revenue Cricket Farming,” aired on April 18, 2026, on GMM25. The program highlights the University’s significant role in translating knowledge into tangible community development.

     ผลงานวิจัยของมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่นได้รับการเผยแพร่ในรายการ “คนหัวกะทิ” ตอน “เปิดเส้นทางความสำเร็จของจิ้งหรีดเงินล้าน” ออกอากาศเมื่อวันที่ 18 เมษายน 2569 ทาง GMM25 สะท้อนบทบาทสำคัญของมหาวิทยาลัยในการนำองค์ความรู้สู่การพัฒนาชุมชนอย่างเป็นรูปธรรม

The Research and Innovation Affairs of Khon Kaen University proudly commends the success of research on cricket farming as a sustainable livelihood. This work was conducted by the Research Institute of Strategy and Coordination for Northeastern Development (rISNED), Khon Kaen University, led by Dr. Anuwat Srisawat, Head of the project on transferring cricket farming innovations to enhance household income and strengthen the grassroots economy, together with his team.  As one of the Spatial development services: Enhancing entrepreneurial capabilities through the development of new value chains in cricket farming to boost the potential for grassroots economic development in Northeastern Thailand.  The project reinforces Khon Kaen University’s role as a leading research and development institution by integrating scientific knowledge with the King’s Philosophy and local wisdom. These elements have been effectively transferred to farmers, enabling them to improve production, reduce costs, and increase income in a practical and measurable way. This has led to the successful “Million-Baht Revenue Cricket Farming” model implemented in several areas. The project’s achievements demonstrate the practical applicability of its knowledge, supported by key national research funding agencies, particularly the Program Management Unit for Area Based Development (PMU A), which plays a vital role in driving area-based research toward economic and social value creation.

      ฝ่ายวิจัยและนวัตกรรม มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ขอร่วมชื่นชมความสำเร็จของผลงานวิจัยด้านการพัฒนาอาชีพการเลี้ยงจิ้งหรีด ผลงานวิจัยจาก สถาบันวิจัยยุทธศาสตร์และประสานความร่วมมือเพื่อพัฒนาภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น  Research Institute of Strategy and Coordination for Northeastern Development (RISNED), Khon Kaen University โดย  ดร.อนุวรรตน์ ศรีสวัสดิ์ หัวหน้าโครงการถ่ายทอดนวัตกรรมการเลี้ยงจิ้งหรีดเพื่อยกระดับรายได้ครัวเรือนและพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจฐานราก และคณะ  ซึ่งตอกย้ำบทบาทของมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ในฐานะสถาบันชั้นนำด้านการวิจัยและพัฒนา โดยบูรณาการองค์ความรู้ทางวิทยาศาสตร์ร่วมกับศาสตร์พระราชาและภูมิปัญญาท้องถิ่น ถ่ายทอดสู่เกษตรกรจนสามารถยกระดับการผลิต ลดต้นทุน และเพิ่มรายได้อย่างเป็นรูปธรรม ก่อให้เกิดโมเดล “จิ้งหรีดเงินล้าน” ที่ประสบความสำเร็จในหลายพื้นที่ ความสำเร็จดังกล่าวสะท้อนถึงประสิทธิภาพขององค์ความรู้ที่สามารถนำไปใช้ได้จริง โดยโครงการนี้ได้รับการสนับสนุนจากแหล่งทุนวิจัยสำคัญของประเทศ โดยเฉพาะหน่วยบริหารและจัดการทุนด้านการพัฒนาระดับพื้นที่ (บพท.) ซึ่งมีบทบาทในการผลักดันงานวิจัยเชิงพื้นที่สู่การสร้างมูลค่าทางเศรษฐกิจและสังคม

In addition, Khon Kaen University has promoted systematic cricket farming practices, including feed management, breed development, and improvements in housing and sanitation. These efforts have resulted in stronger crickets and consistent product quality. The University has also supported financial management by introducing simple household and business accounting systems, enabling farmers to analyze costs, plan profits, and build savings effectively. This has facilitated a transformation in their roles—from “farmers” to “entrepreneurs.”

     นอกจากนี้ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่นยังได้ส่งเสริมการจัดการเลี้ยงจิ้งหรีดอย่างเป็นระบบ ทั้งด้านการให้อาหาร การพัฒนาสายพันธุ์ และการจัดการโรงเรือนและสุขาภิบาล ส่งผลให้จิ้งหรีดมีความแข็งแรง และผลผลิตมีคุณภาพสม่ำเสมอ อีกทั้งยังสนับสนุนการบริหารจัดการทางการเงิน ด้วยการนำระบบบัญชีครัวเรือนและบัญชีธุรกิจที่เข้าใจง่ายมาใช้ ช่วยให้เกษตรกรสามารถวิเคราะห์ต้นทุน วางแผนกำไร และสร้างเงินออมได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ นำไปสู่การปรับเปลี่ยนบทบาทจาก “เกษตรกร” สู่ “ผู้ประกอบการ”

This success underscores Khon Kaen University’s role as a key driver of local development, not only generating knowledge but also ensuring its practical application. Ultimately, it enhances the quality of life of Thai farmers in a sustainable manner and serves as a model for grassroots economic development driven by innovation and self-reliance.

     ความสำเร็จครั้งนี้สะท้อนให้เห็นถึงบทบาทของมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่นในการเป็นกลไกสำคัญในการขับเคลื่อนการพัฒนาท้องถิ่น ที่ไม่เพียงสร้างองค์ความรู้ แต่ยังสามารถถ่ายทอดและประยุกต์ใช้ได้จริง ช่วยยกระดับคุณภาพชีวิตของเกษตรกรไทยอย่างยั่งยืน และเป็นต้นแบบของการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจฐานรากด้วยนวัตกรรมและการพึ่งพาตนเอง

Khon Kaen University Welcomes PMUC Delegation for Research and Innovation Monitoring Visit

     On April 9–10, 2026, Khon Kaen University, led by Associate Professor Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, MD, President of the University, together with Professor Pewpan Maleewong, MD, Vice President for Research and Innovation, and Professor Thidarut Boonmars, DVM, PhD, Vice President for Enterprise and Societal Sustainability, extended a warm welcome to the executive delegation from Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI).  Professor Suthipun Jitpimolmard, MD, FRCP (Lond), Advisor to TSRI, was also in attendance.

     Professor Vissanu Meeyoo, PhD, Vice President of TSRI, stated that the visit aimed to monitor the progress of projects supported under the Fundamental Fund (FF) and to further enhance the effective and tangible utilization of research outputs (RU).

ด้าน ศาสตราจารย์ ดร.วิษณุ มีอยู่ รองผู้อำนวยการ สกสว. กล่าวถึงวัตถุประสงค์การลงพื้นที่ เพื่อติดตามผลการดำเนินงานจากงบ FF และผลักดันงานวิจัยสู่การใช้ประโยชน์ (RU) อย่างเป็นรูปธรรม

     Professor Pewpan Maleewong presented an overview of the University’s research funding, along with key innovations in food, health, and energy.

ศาสตราจารย์ พญ.ผิวพรรณ มาลีวงษ์ ได้นำเสนอภาพรวมงบประมาณวิจัยของมหาวิทยาลัย พร้อมแสดงผลงานนวัตกรรมเด่นด้านอาหาร สุขภาพ และพลังงาน

     On April 10, 2026, at the KKU Science Park, Dr. Apirachai Wongsriworapol, Director of the Khon Kaen University Science Park (KKUSP), delivered a welcome address and presented the Science Park’s operational achievements. This was followed by a visit to pilot plant facilities and initiatives aimed at translating research outcomes into practical applications for the community and industry.

     On April 10, the Research Administration Division of Khon Kaen University, led by the Director of the Division, together with heads of units and staff members, participated in the traditional Rod Nam Dam Hua ceremony. The participants respectfully poured scented water over the hands of the University’s executives and sought blessings in celebration of the Thai New Year, a cherished cultural tradition.

     เมื่อวันที่ 10 เมษายน กองบริหารงานวิจัย นำโดย ผู้อำนวยการกองบริหารงานวิจัย พร้อมด้วยหัวหน้างานและบุคลากรในสังกัด เข้ารดน้ำดำหัวและขอพร เนื่องในโอกาสปีใหม่ไทย ซึ่งเป็นประเพณีอันดีงาม

      On this occasion, the delegation paid homage to and sought blessings from Professor Pewpan Maleewong, MD, Vice President for Research and Innovation, at the Research and Innovation Affairs Office on the 5th floor of the Sirikunakorn Building, Khon Kaen University. The activity was conducted in accordance with Thai customs as a gesture of respect and goodwill.

     ในการนี้ ได้เข้ารดน้ำและขอพร ศาสตราจารย์ แพทย์หญิง ผิวพรรณ มาลีวงษ์ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายวิจัยและนวัตกรรม ณ ชั้น 5 อาคารสิริคุณากร ห้องฝ่ายวิจัยและนวัตกรรม เพื่อขอพรและแสดงความเคารพตามธรรมเนียมไทย

Khon Kaen University – On March 30, 2026, Professor Pewpan Maleewong,MD, Vice President for Research and Innovation, Khon Kaen University, presided over the opening ceremony of the “Workshop on Laboratory Safety Standards 2026” held in Witthayawiphas 1 Room, Witthayawiphas Building, Faculty of Science, Khon Kaen University.   The workshop was jointly organized by the Committee on Laboratory Safety Standards Related to Chemical Use, the Research and Innovation Affairs of Khon Kaen University, and the Research Center for Environmental and Hazardous Substance Management (EHSM), Faculty of Engineering.

มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น – เมื่อวันที่ 30 มีนาคม 2569 ศาสตราจารย์ พญ.ผิวพรรณ มาลีวงษ์ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายวิจัยและนวัตกรรม มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น เป็นประธานเปิดโครงการ “การอบรมเชิงปฏิบัติการด้านมาตรฐานความปลอดภัยห้องปฏิบัติการ ประจำปี 2569″ ณ ห้องวิทยวิภาส 1 อาคารวิทยวิภาส คณะวิทยาศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น จัดโดย คณะกรรมการดำเนินงานด้านมาตรฐานความปลอดภัยห้องปฏิบัติการที่เกี่ยวข้องกับสารเคมี มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ฝ่ายวิจัยและนวัตกรรม และ ศูนย์วิจัยด้านการจัดการสิ่งแวดล้อมและสารอันตราย (EHSM) คณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์

Recognition of Four KKU Exemplary Laboratories Certified at the National Level

 A key highlight of the opening ceremony was the presentation of Peer Evaluation-based laboratory safety certification emblems to four laboratories that successfully passed the assessment criteria. These laboratories serve as exemplary models in fostering a strong safety culture:

  1. Electron Microscopy Laboratory, Department of Pathology, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University (KKU)
  2. Research Laboratory on Hydrogen Production from Biomass via Microorganisms, Faculty of Technology, Khon Kaen University (KKU)
  3. Environmental Science Laboratory, Faculty of Science, Khon Kaen University (KKU)
  4. Central Laboratory, Faculty of Science, Khon Kaen University (KKU)

เชิดชู 4 ห้องปฏิบัติการต้นแบบ ผ่านการรับรองมาตรฐานระดับประเทศ

ในพิธีเปิดงาน ได้มีการจัดกิจกรรมสำคัญคือการมอบตราสัญลักษณ์การรับรองมาตรฐานห้องปฏิบัติการในรูปแบบ Peer Evaluation ให้แก่ห้องปฏิบัติการที่ผ่านการตรวจประเมินจำนวน 4 แห่ง เพื่อเป็นแบบอย่างที่ดีในการสร้างวัฒนธรรมความปลอดภัย ประกอบด้วย:

  • In-depth ESPReL Checklist: Laboratory status assessment and relevant regulations by Associate Professor Arthit Neramittagapong, PhD
  • Chemical and Waste Management by Associate Professor Panitan Jutaporn, PhD
  • Physical and Equipment Management: Laboratory instruments and equipment by Associate Professor Visanu Tanboonchuy, PhD

March 31, 2026 (Lecture Room: SC.9206):

  • Risk Management: Emergency prevention and response by Associate Professor Sumana Ratpukdi, PhD
  • Fundamental Safety: Data and documentation management by Dr. Siriporn Lunprom
  • Hands-on Workshop: Implementation of the Lab Safety Information System (NRCT), checklist analysis, and development of laboratory safety improvement plans

This event was made possible through collaboration among multiple faculties and units, including the Faculties of Agriculture, Dentistry, Associated Medical Sciences, Technology, Medicine, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Science, Engineering, Interdisciplinary Studies, and Veterinary Medicine, as well as the Research Instrument Center, Khon Kaen University, and the Mekong Health Science Research Institute (MeHSRI).  The initiative aims to collectively advance Khon Kaen University as a safe research environment in accordance with national standards.

     The Research and Innovation Affairs, Khon Kaen University welcomed the delegation from the Program Management Unit for Competitiveness (PMUC), under the “Research and Innovation Acceleration Agency for Competitiveness and Area Development (Public Organization)” or abbreviated as “RCAD” on the occasion of their site visit to monitor the progress of research projects on April 2, 2026, at the Research Administration Division, Office of the President 2.

     ฝ่ายวิจัยและนวัตกรรม มหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น เปิดพื้นที่ต้อนรับคณะจากหน่วยบริหารจัดการทุนด้านการเพิ่มความสามารถการแข่งขัน ภายใต้สำนักงานเร่งรัดการวิจัยและนวัตกรรมเพื่อเพิ่มความสามารถการแข่งขันและการพัฒนาพื้นที่ (องค์การมหาชน) (รวพ.) ในโอกาสลงพื้นที่ติดตามการดำเนินงานโครงการวิจัย เมื่อวันที่ 2 เมษายน 2569 ณ กองบริหารงานวิจัย สำนักงานอธิการบดี 2

     Professor Pewpan Maleewong, MD, Vice President for Research and Innovation, together with Professor Thidarut Boonmars, DVM, PhD, Vice President for Enterprise and Societal Sustainability, extended a warm welcome to the delegation.  They presented an overview of the university’s research performance.  They also exchanged ideas on advancing research to align with national competitiveness goals.

     ศ.พญ.ผิวพรรณ มาลีวงษ์ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายวิจัยและนวัตกรรม พร้อมด้วย ศ.ธิดารัตน์ บุญมาศ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายวิสาหกิจและสังคมยั่งยืน ให้การต้อนรับ พร้อมนำเสนอภาพรวมการดำเนินงานวิจัย และแลกเปลี่ยนแนวทางการขับเคลื่อนงานวิจัยให้สอดคล้องกับเป้าหมายการเพิ่มขีดความสามารถของประเทศ

     The PMUC delegation was led by Associate Professor Ganda Boonsothonsatit, PhD, Director of the Program Management Unit for Competitiveness (PMUC), along with Assistant Professor Jirawan Neimsakul, PhD, Program Director of the Digital Platform | Semiconductor | Logistics | Future Mobility and Rail System, and their team. The session included a summary of research outcomes from 2020–2025 and discussions on research project management, covering key areas such as smart logistics, digital platforms, energy, and modern agriculture, totaling more than nine projects.

     คณะผู้เข้าร่วมจากหน่วยบริหารจัดการทุนฯ นำโดย รองศาสตราจารย์กานดา บุญโสธรสถิตย์ ผู้อำนวยการหน่วยบริหารจัดการทุนด้านการเพิ่มความสามารถการแข่งขัน ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์จิราวรรณ เนียมสกุล ผู้อำนวยการแผนระบบคมนาคมแห่งอนาคต โลจิสติกส์และดิจิทัล และคณะ ภายในกิจกรรม มีการสรุปผลการดำเนินงานปี 2563–2568 พร้อมหารือการบริหารจัดการโครงการวิจัย ครอบคลุมประเด็นสำคัญ เช่น โลจิสติกส์อัจฉริยะ ดิจิทัลแพลตฟอร์ม พลังงาน และเกษตรสมัยใหม่ รวมกว่า 9 โครงการ

     In addition, policy-level discussions were held to strengthen research governance and promote the effective translation of research outputs into tangible applications. The delegation also visited the University’s advanced battery and next-generation energy facilities.

     นอกจากนี้ ยังมีการแลกเปลี่ยนเชิงนโยบายเพื่อยกระดับการบริหารจัดการงานวิจัย และส่งเสริมการนำผลงานไปใช้ประโยชน์อย่างเป็นรูปธรรม พร้อมลงพื้นที่เยี่ยมชมโรงงานแบตเตอรี่และพลังงานยุคใหม่ของมหาวิทยาลัย

     This visit underscores Khon Kaen University’s pivotal role as a leading hub for research and innovation, contributing significantly to the advancement of national competitiveness and sustainable development.
