December 23-26, 2022 – Assoc. Prof. Pattareeya Lasunon, Ph.D., Vice Dean of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University, led a team of lecturers and students in a study trip to SCG Grand Co. Ltd. and on this occasion received research fund from SCG Grand. Dr. Rattawit Wajanapreechasak, Administrative Chairman of the company welcomed the team from KKU and explained about the approach for collaboration and development of researchers and research work towards commercial purposes. Assoc. Prof. Nipaporn Lengkhampan, Ph.D., Head of the Project said that the heart of developing Thai herbs using science and technology can result in commercial products. The consumers and customers will obtain quality products that are safe for consumption. Moreover, the farmers in the community will earn more incomes from the business. From this notion, it has been seen that research studies will create new technical knowledge. It is also important for the university to collaborate with other organizations in order to enhance the research work that can be applied in developing products for entrepreneurs. The company has coordinated with Hua Pee Tai Pee Co. Ltd. and the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies of KKU Nongkhai Campus to conduct research on syrinx, which contains biologically active substance. This will be useful for consumers of the products manufactured by companies under SCG Grand Co. Ltd.’s group. The research fund, an amount of 200,000 baht, is granted to students of the faculty to conduct the research. In the near future, other extracts will be developed for use with new products and for entrepreneurs under the company to manufacture. SCG Grand is the producer with an “innovative heart”. The company creates original innovations that bring beautiful lives to everyone, greater quality and more sustainable values to entrepreneurs.
