Biosafety and Biosecurity Workshop Program for BSL-II 2024

On 16 – 17 May 2024, the Research and Graduate Studies Department By the Research Administration Division Office of the President and Research Instrument Center Khon Kaen University in collaboration with the Department of Microbiology Faculty of Medicine Organized a workshop on biosafety and biosecurity for BSL-II for the year 2024 at the auditorium meeting room, Science Park Administration Building. Khon Kaen University which was honored by Assoc. Prof. Dr.Sorujsiri Chareonsudjai, Secretary of the Biosafety Control Committee at Khon Kaen University (Institutional Biosafety Committee –IBC) chaired the opening speech of this training workshop project.

Khon Kaen University sees the importance of driving forward the policy and strategy of being a research university and places importance on compliance with the Animal Pathogens and Toxins Act 2015 announced in the Royal Gazette. With a curriculum that has been certified by the Department of Medical Sciences Ministry of Public Health on April 7, 2020, consisting of theoretical and practical parts according to the specified details.

The objective is to provide theoretical knowledge. on biosafety and biosecurity practices and procedures and arrange for trainees to practice Biosafety and biosecurity Workshop participants who attended listened to theoretical lectures and practiced practical training. Not less than 80 percent of training time and receive a post-test score of not less than 70 percent of the total score will receive a training certificate valid for 3 years.

There are training participants from departments within the university, including faculties, colleges, the Laboratory Animal Research Center, the Research Services Office, Srinakarin Hospital, professors, postdoctoral researchers, medical technicians, science academics, and scientific academics.
