May 25, 2021 – Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University; Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati Charoen, Ph.D., Vice President for International Affairs; Asst. Prof. Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Affairs; Assoc. Prof. Ratchaphon Suntivarakorn, Ph.D., Dean of Faculty of Engineering; and lecturers from the Faculty of Engineering held an online meeting with Consul General of the People’s Republic of China to Khon Kaen Province through VDO Conference. The meeting discussed the development of the undergraduate High Speed Train Program, which is under the collaboration between Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) and Khon Kaen University.
The meeting went on to discuss the preparation for the readiness of the future high-speed train. Khon Kaen University sees the opportunities, in this regard, in developing human resources and responding to the employment market in which knowledgeable engineers with expertise in high-speed train are required. Therefore, the High Speed Train Program is being developed under the collaboration of Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) and Khon Kaen University. Southwest Jiaotong University is a leading university in high-speed train in China. Both institutions expect to open this program by 2022.
The meeting went on successfully, with the participants exchanging information and good understanding of one another. The direction of the implementation will be concretely and elaborately planned in due course. Besides, this is the good opportunity for both universities to begin the collaboration in academic, research, exchanges of experiences and bodies of knowledge for the benefits of both institutions and the nations.
