September 9, 2021 from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. – The Innovation and Enterprise and the Research and Graduate Study Sections under the budget allocation for creating innovation to fight against Covid-19 and the Blue Sky Innovation and Research Project of Khon Kaen University, along with cooperation from many parts of KKU, transferred 2 innovation technologies for fighting against Covid-19 to Srinagarind Hospital, namely, 20 sets of reserved batteries for PAPR suits and 50 sets of bio-active spray. Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University presided over the transferring event. The research team from the Lithium Ion Battery Factory, researchers from the Faculty of Engineering, and administrators from the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Sciences, and Faculty of Engineering were present at the event, which took place at the Office of the Dean, Lecture Building, 6th Floor, Faculty of Medicine.

The Project already came up with some innovations that have already been given to Srinagarind Hospital before this. The reserved battery sets for PAPR suit will lengthen the time for the use of PAPR suits and make the operations of the health officers more effective. PAPR is a mask that protects against pathogens. It is of the type that covers the head, with a fan and a screen for screening out minute particles. Inside the mask, the air pressure is higher than outside, preventing entrance of viruses and pathogens owing to the high pressure. This equipment is part of the overall body preventive set for the health officers, especially those working on manual procedures with patients having respiratory diseases. As for the bio-active spray, this is a device that contains the bacteria and virus killer, and is used to spray on carpets and clothes. Its efficiency is 100% during a very short time.
