CARI KKU expand the results of operations to Lao PDR.

On November 17 – 30, 2022, Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute Khon Kaen University  collaborate with the Lao Tropical and Public Health Institute (Lao TPHI), conducted liver fluke screening  people of Pathouphone city, Champasak Province, under the Combatting Cholangiocarcinoma in Lao PDR project, supported by the Kadoorie Foundation through Imperial College London.

The registration and screening target was 2,000 cases from 10 villages, which mobilized personnel from both countries, namely the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute Khon Kaen University, The Institute of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, Champasak District Public Health Department, and Pathouphone Hospital.

This operation is an extension of the operation at Lao PDR in 2019, after this Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute, Khon Kaen University will conduct ultrasound screening of bile duct cancer, surgical treatment of bile duct cancer patients, and training the treatment team to develop the personnel of Champasak Province, Lao.
