August 30, 2021 – the implementers of Integrated Sub-district Socio-Economic Upgrading Project (University to Tambon) led by Ajarn Sukalaya Choenkhwan, Ph.D. and Khun Parichat Hanchaiyana, Manager of Kalasin Nature’s Friends Association ran a workshop on site at Ban Nonsomboon, Phosai Sub-district, Srisomdet District, Roi-et Province, on soap making from natural oils in order to promote a supplementary occupation for the villagers. Other objectives were to increase the villages’ knowledge in processing local resources into household consumption materials and items so that the villagers can reduce their expenditures. At the same time, the workshop aimed to open marketing opportunity, add to the values of community products, build occupations for the villagers, reduce unemployment, and build good relationships among the people.

KKU joins NRCT to donate 100,000 liver fluke test kits to Ministry of Public Health for ease of liver fluke disease screening

August 27, 2021 – Khon Kaen University under the collaboration with the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) held a ceremony for giving 100,000 sets of OV-Rapid diagnostic test (OV-RDT) for liver flukes to the 7th Health Region of the Ministry of Public Health at Sarasin Room, 2nd Floor, Sirikunakorn Building of Khon Kaen University. Prof. Monchai Duanchinda, Ph.D. Vice President for Research and Graduate Study; Prof. Narong Khanteekaew, M.D., Acting Director of the Cholangiocarcinoma Research Institute; and Prof. Paiboon Sithithaworn, Ph.D., the research team leader represented KKU to transfer the test kits. The representatives receiving the OV-RDT from the 7th Disease Control Office Khon Kaen included Dr. Somrerk Juengsaman, M.D., Inspector-General of the Ministry of Public Health, the 7th Disease Control Office; and Dr. Saman Futrakoon, M.D., Director of the 7th Disease Control Office. The ceremony strictly observed Khon Kaen’s guard against the spread of Covid-19.

U2T of the Faculty of Agriculture, KKU holds a coaching workshop for entrepreneurs in developing community products

August 13, 2021 – Faculty of Agriculture, Khon Kaen University organized an online workshop via Google Meet on “Development of Business Plans for Community Products” under the University to Tambon or U2T Project for Ban Thaen Sub-district, Chonnabot District, Khon Kaen and Khok Snga Sub-district, Phon District, Khon Kaen. Participants included implementers of the Project and entrepreneurs in the area. This Project – Integrated Sub-district Socio-Economic Upgrading – is led by Asst. Prof. Arunee Promkhambut, Ph.D., of the Faculty of Agriculture. The workshop was principally run by Asst. Prof. Sukanda Nakhapaksin, Ph.D., with assistance from Khun Pirote Jullarat, CEO of Microbrain Co.Ltd., and Khun Jittiporn Jitphak, Producer of Agency Advertisement. The 35 participants were given suggestions on business plans that were based on the results of community information analysis and group meetings that provided information on outstanding products and people who wanted to develop their existing products or initiate new products. The entrepreneurs and project implementers had a chance to present their Business Model Canvas (BMC) and received suggestions from the experts who ran the workshop. The objectives of this workshop were to give knowledge in developing marketing communication, finding selling channels, and to promote identity creation for community products.

EGAT and KKU join in developing Engywall for commercial benefits

August 20, 2021 at 16:00 p.m. – Khon Kaen University held an MOU signing ceremony with the Electricity Generation Authority of Thailand (EGAT) via Zoom Meeting. The collaboration is under the “Engywall Research and Development Project for Commercial Benefits”. Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University represented and signed for KKU, while Dr. Jiraporn Sirikham, the Strategic Deputy Director of the Electricity Generation Authority of Thailand represented and signed for EGAT. Both parties’ witnesses at the MOU signing were Prof. Thidarat Boonmars, Ph.D., Vice President for Innovation and Enterprise; Khun Venus Longsomboon, Assistant Director for Research, Innovation, and Business Development of EGAT and over 30 other administrators.

Department of Medical Services signs MOU with KKU for development of digital medical certificate issuance

August 19, 2021 at 14:00 p.m. – Khon Kaen University signed an MOU with the Department of Medical Services, for the development of digital medical certificate issuance. Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University represented Khon Kaen University, while Dr. Somsak Akksilp, M.D., Director General of the Department of Medical Services represented the Department of Medical Services in the online MOU signing via ZOOM. Witnesses at this MOU signing ceremony comprised Asst. Prof. Denpong Soodphakdee, Ph.D., Vice President for Digital of KKU; Dr. Patarawin Attasara, M.D., Director of the Digital Medical Institute; Mr. Chaichana Weerasuchat, Director of the Ethical Protection Law and Discipline Group of the Department of Medical Services; and Dr. Thanapop Na Nakhonpanom, M.D., from the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University.
